As well as using more fuel-efficient aircraft, we offer our clients a programme to offset the CO2 emissions from their trips via OpenFly.
Become a contributor to the decarbonisation of aviation
As soon as a booking is made on OpenFly, it is possible to make a financial contribution and buy back the CO2 emitted, while supporting the development and use of electric aviation.
OpenFly has entered into a partnership with the Aero4Good association, which is working for the transition of aviation to electric propulsion.
Aero4Good acts as a link between those wishing to participate in the ecological transition of aviation by offsetting their carbon emissions and operators of electric aircraft.
How it works:
The money raised will be paid back to partner training schools and flying clubs using an electric aircraft rather than a combustion aircraft, in proportion to the number of hours flown, thereby avoiding the same amount of CO2 emissions.
In return, you will receive a receipt and an offset certificate for your contribution, to add to your CO2 balance.
The Velis Electro emits around 90kg less CO2 per flight hour than an equivalent internal combustion aircraft. Operators using electric aircraft (training schools, aeroclubs, etc.) will receive compensation for their "emissions gains" for every 100 hours of flight actually flown.
Total compatibility with CSR policies
Thanks to our partnership, we are able to provide our clients with a compensation certificate issued by Aero4Good.
This CO₂ certificate represents the quantity of emissions for which financial responsibility is assumed through support for climate protection projects.
Why Aero4Good?
Aero4Good is the first association to have chosen an angle for offsetting CO2 emissions in relation to its sector of activity.
Aero4Good's ambition is to facilitate the decarbonisation of light aviation.
To achieve this, the association acts as a link between entities wishing to participate in the ecological transition of aviation by offsetting their carbon emissions and operators of electric aircraft.
We have chosen to support this project to avoid greenhouse gases, which has an immediate impact on the environment. It's also a way of supporting the aviation industry in its efforts to reduce carbon emissions, accelerate the sector's ecological transition and encourage the use of electric aircraft.
